Dominican model, Arlenis Sosa [ 19] is on the cover TIME magazines' April 2009 Style & Design supplement. Arlenis who was signed with Marilyn Modeling Agency exactly 1 year ago has taken the fashion world by storm. Within two weeks of joining Marilyn she was booked for American Vogue and featured in the all black Italian Vogue photographed by the world renowned Steven Misel. Arlenis has also walked in several major shows such as Christian Dior, Oscar De La Renta, and Victoria's Secret. This is one of the best editorials I've seen in a long time. A good editorial makes me pause from wildly flipping through the pages and makes me think "wow, that's different". Everything from the gritty lighting, to the styling of the clothes and the make-up is a fresh take on fashion for me. Alrenis photographs beautifully and she's rumored to be the new face of Lancome cosmetics.

Kanye West's new model girlfriend, Amber Rose has standout style. Mr. West is undeniably a heavy influence on her wardrobe, above is my favorite look. Amber opted for matching zebra accessories Who said "matchy- matchy" wasn't cool? Now for the best part, her Alexander McQueen neon pink/taupe leggings added a pop of color to the front row of Stella McCartney's show in Paris Fashion Week. The black strapless top is also by McQueen. Here's a few other looks, I'm putting her on my style radar.

Only Kerry could add sex appeal to a very conservative outfit such as this one. She looks stunning wearing a mint colored Louis Vuitton jacket.

"Harlem Heights," premiered last night on BET, the new reality show captures the "young, black and fabulous crowd" of one of New York's most infamous neighborhoods. The cast includes a lifestyle editor for the basketball publication Dime magazine, an aspiring actress, a fashionista, a young man trying his hand at a political career and even a young dad. The cast is refreshing and genuinely "real". Is there a new Renaissance going on in Harlem? I'll be keeping track of episodes but until then lets talk about their fashions. This cast of black professionals has their style on LOCK all thanks to June Amborse who is the costume designer of the series, but I'm sure the cast has a stlye of their own of camera.
"If I am dressing up I like to wear nice suits with patterned shirts and colorful ties. If am just chilling I prefer some comfortable jeans and sweater with some uptowns."

"I’d absolutely, sacrifice comfort for style. You have to look good. I only wear pointy toe stilettos, usually four-inch or higher because I’ve been told I want people to take me seriously, and that’s a power shoe ... I’m a basic, classic girl. I do suiting, but I’ll add a trendy piece. My style is a bit more grown up, since I’m going to be an attorney."

"My fashion style stems mainly from my personality: 80’s and just not really focusing on trends. I do not sacrifice comfort for style, I am a flat boot girl. I think that being comfortable in your fashion choices gives you ownership over your look. I think people should stick to that and not get sucked into trends and what looks great on other people."
"Swagged up rockstar, flashy and bold tees, my jeans slightly sagged with a lil splash on the belt ... Nah, I always gotta be comfortable. Knots can't fit in skinny jeans."

"Classic, with a little bit of, in words of Jason “Young Harlem,” splashiness. I’m a huge fan of the two and three-piece suits, but also love to kick it with a hoodie and some Diesel jeans, and some Nike Dunks. The suit commands attention. The hoodie and jean look lets people know that you are comfortable with who you are, no matter who is watching."

"My fashion style is sophisticated with a hint of sexy. I would sacrifice comfort for style in a stiletto any day!"

First Lady Michelle Obama, known for showing off her toned arms, went sleeveless for her just-released official White House portrait. She looks amazing wearing a simple LBD by Michel Kors. Fantastic! Either four or eight years from now who ever the new first lady will have to work hard to stand out because Michelle is outstanding. Jackie -O who??
