Although Alicia Keys thoroughly deserved her spot on US Magazines worst dressed celebrities of 2009, she looked gorgeous at the American Music Awards last month. Her Armani Prive dress looked spectacular with the electric blue pumps.

Say what you will about 2009, but it was a great year for fashion. Thanks to style stars like Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington black women lit up the red carpets with incredible designer looks.

I've spent hours going through the red carpet looks of our favorite divas, and I've picked the year's top 10. Be sure to let me know what you think of picks. Don't worry if your favorite look didn't make the list. There's an honorable mentions post coming soon.

10. Halle Berry in Marchesa

Zoe Saldana stunned in a floor length sequin and tulle gown on the red carpet. Zoe's gown reminds of a shorter dress worn by supermodel Iman at the Keep A Child Alive event. Zoe's simple accessories are the perfect accent to glam dress.

Ciara has certainly upped her sex appeal. This isn't the first she's been spotted in a sheer minidress. I've got to say that this is one of my favorite looks from Ciara. Her accessories are killer. You've got to love her Christian Louboutin Maggie pumps and studded clutch.

I love when celebrity style can be easily translated into looks for everyday women. Zoe Saldana rocked a look that would be perfect for the office to the 2009 Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards.

Zoe's purple pumps add a hint of personal style to a rather ordinary outfit. I'm also loving her simple jewelry.

If you're loving Zoe's look, I've found some look-a-likes.

I can't even be as hard on MiMi as I used to be. "Precious" completely changed my perception of her. So instead of ragging on her for wearing the same dress in different colors for the past 18 months, I'll just say that she looks gorgeous despite the sheer tackiness that exudes from this ensemble.

I tried.

Vivica Fox's age is starting to catch up with her, but for some reason she insists on wearing the tackiest and most revealing dresses she can find. I know she's trying, but lawd I wish she'd take a page from Halle's book, and make better fashion choices.

Leona Lewis was spotted wearing the same pair of booties to two very high profile events. First he wore them to the release party of her sophomore album. I'm loving the Herve Leger bodycon dress she wore it with. Though I'd love it more without the corset.

She wore the booties for a second time with a Vivienne Westwood leather minidress. I'm not fond of either look, but I've certainly noticed that Ms. Lewis is working hard to emphasize her tiny waist. When did she wear it best?

Under normal circumstances, I would never advise a woman over 40 to wear a silk dress. But that's just because everyone ain't Halle Berry. Ms. Berry looked gorgeous and appropriate in her silk dress.

Lord knows how Cassie would stay relevant if she didn't have such great style (or stylists). Cassie showed up to Diddy's 40th birthday celebration wearing a low-cut sequin gown, and she looked absolutely flawless. Of course, the hair is still ridiculously distracting, but it's hard to hate when everything else is so flawless. Cassie went super glam with bejeweled accessories. Gotta love this look!

One of the things I love about Rihanna is her effortless style. It's rare that you'll see an artist who looks as great on her off days as she does when she's working, and that's something that can only be accomplished by someone who lives and breathes great fashion.

Rihanna was spotted a couple of days before Christmas in a jacket by fashion's current "it" boy, Alexander Wang. The hooded denim jacket is available for $590 at your local Saks.

As much as I'm loving the jacket, I have to say that those boots are giving me life.

Little Miss Sunshine was spotted in her native Barbados wearing a super cute neon pink ruffled bikini. Yes, it's probably cold as hell where you are, but for those of you lucky enough to be headed to a warmer climate this resort season, then here are a few options for you. New Year's eve is quickly approaching, and I'm in an ultra-glam mood. This week's haute list features a number of typically chic pieces, but my favorite is the Stella McCartney Lace Detail Jacket from the designer's Resort '10 collection. Many times have I given Vivica A. Fox the serious side eye for her wardrobe choices, but every once in awhile, Viv gets it so right that I cannot deny her. This purple minidress is everything. The embellishments at the neckline and waist add just enough sparkle without being too gaudy.

Once again Viv shows that accessories can make or break your outfit. I'm loving Ms. Fox's Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

In case you didn't know, around these parts we stan for supermodel Chanel Iman. She might be the most recognizable woman of color working in fashion, and that's because she does incredible work.

She's featured in a cute new editorial for Vogue Germany where she's playing a super chic Minnie Mouse. The sets are gorgeous, but I can't take my eyes off of Chanel's super chic bob. Couldn't love it more. View the rest of the photos at Fashion Gone Rogue.

Zoe Saldana, one of our favorite fashionistas, has been spotted wearing beige and black dresses on the red carpet. Zoe wore a Narciso Rodriguez black and beige dress, with complimenting two tone pumps to the Star Trek DVD/BluRay release party, and she wore a nude colored dress with black accents to the GQ Men of the Year Party.

Trina is celebrating her birthday with parties across the country. Her latest bash was held in Miami, and Ms. Trina wearing a sexy strapless sequin dress. She kept it safe with gold jewelry and gold Louboutins. I love how she keeps it classy with her wardrobe. It's young, fun and sexy, but it's never too scandalous.

Keisha Buchanan, formerly of Sugababes, wore a studded mini dress to the UK premiere of This is It that reminded me of a dress Beyonce wore to the EMAs. Studded accents are all the rage nowadays, but I'm not too keen on Keisha's choice. Maybe its the booties that are throwing me off.

Zoe Saldana was spotted in a blazer and bra at the MOCA 30th Anniversary after party.This isn't the first time we've seen Zoe in a bra outside of her boudoir. She wore a sheer blouse and bra to the Prada Book launch not too long ago.

This season it seems like all of my favorite celebrities have opted for a sequin dress for the red carpet. And I really can't blame them. There's no better way to grab everyone's attention. Worn the right way, a sequined dress will unleash your inner glam goddess.

Live it up while you can. Because women in their 20s and younger can get away with practically anything. Any length, cut, and color can work. The world is your oyster. Play up your wardrobe freedom with a sequin mini like Keri Hilson.

30s
By the time you hit the big 3-0, it's time to start choosing longer hemlines. But that doesn't mean you can't add some fun to your sequin dress with bold, statement accessories like Kimora Lee Simmons. The simplicity of her sheath dress paired with her knee-high suede boots and layered necklaces makes this look a winner.

40s
Women in their fabulous 40s should look for sleeker silhouttes. Ms. Berry showed just the right amount of skin with a tea-length sparkler. Sure, the cutouts and ample cleavage might not be the best bet for everyone, but I'm loving how Halle isn't afraid to get sexy on 'em. Halle also offsets the rather conservative length of her dress with bold accessories.

50s
Iman shows the young ones how it's done, again. Pick a simple silhouette with a bit of added flair, and keep everything else simple. Less is more on women of a certain age. Effortless style is the way to go. Let the young ones jump through all the fashion hoops.

Pop superstar Leona Lewis is busy promoting her new album, Echo, and she's been all over the place. She stopped by the Canadian television show MuchonDemand for an interview. Leona's developed a new habit of pairing corsets with all of her outfits, and I'm still not too keen on the idea. Why would a woman so tiny develop such an attachment? Anyway, I'm loving her knee-high boots. If I'm not mistaking Leona isn't a tall girl [EDIT: Apparently Leona is 5' 7". I never would have guessed] (atleast she's no Ciara), so it's great to see that (almost) all women can rock the look.

If you're anything like me, you aren't often impressed by style trends. I hate wasting money on pieces that I'm not going to be able to wear in a few months. But right now sequins have caught my eye. I've been seeing them everywhere and on everyone, and I cannot resist any longer. Plus, sequins seem to be a look that comes and goes quite frequently. Is it just me, or does Ciara have one of the best bodies in the business. It's a shame that she couldn't get a hit to save her career, but she's been stepping up her style game recently. Mini's are becoming apart of the singer's signature look. Can't hate her for it, though. If I had a body that great, I'd probably be half-naked on the red carpet too.

Princess Super C showed that she's the future of scandalous R&B in this see-through minidress that she wore to Janet Jackson's AMA after-party.

Halle Berry looked stunning at the March of Dimes 4th Annual Celebration of Babies. Her grey jersey dress looked gorgeous with her grey suede heels. I'm just glad that Halle has chosen to age gracefully instead of trying to hold onto her youth like so many of her over-40 colleagues. This is a sexy, chic day dress that looks fab.

Halle's suede heels remind me of a pair Beyonce wore to a press event in Tokyo. See for yourself. Suede heels are ultra hot this season. I hope you've got your pair.
