We usually see LaLa Vasquez partying around L.A. in a body conscious minidresses, but she toned down her signature style for Essence Magazine's 40th Anniversary Luncheon. She wore a knee-length leather skirt with a printed blouse and black pumps.

The leather skirt kept it edgy, but it was still appropriate for an afternoon lunch.

Y'all know I'm a huge fan of MJB's style. It's the kind of grown and sexy that only a woman over 35 can really pull off. She wore a grey suit to Us Weekly's 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers Party. She paired the look with a black oversized clutch and leopard print heels.

Fashion week is in full force, and Black Hollywood's biggest stars have been seen at the shows. Cassie wore this gorgeous black mini to the Nicole Miller fashion show.

Cassie's dress was super short with embellished bodice and skirt. She's become more a socialite than an entertainer, but Cassie always makes sure to look incredible whenever we see her.

June Ambrose is one of my favorite style makers. She's charming and witty with impeccable style to match.

She's known for dressing your favorite  celebs, but I'm much more interested in what she's going to wear.

June brought her A game to Piperlime's celebration of Fashion's Night Out.

Her leopard print jumpsuit immediately makes a statement. And she went over the top with the accessories.

At a fashion event, June's look is perfect. But in real life, the lack of a focal point might be a bit much for day to day wear.

I've tweaked the outfit a bit so it's a still fun and fashion-forward.

Melody Thornton wore a white crochet mini dress to Sean Garrett's mixtape listening party. Melody's 60s-inspired outfit was paired with a gold Chanel necklace, black boots and black tights.

Melody takes chances with her wardrobe. Sometimes it works, and this is one of those times.

Veronica Webb looked better than ever at the Irina Shabayeva Fashion Show. Her one shoulder dress was a gorgeous cut and color on the supermodel who is well into her 40s. She wore the dress with gold jewelry and yellow flats.

Ms. Webb doesn't always pick the right pieces, but this one is definitely an A+.

Alexandra Burke looked gorgeous in a floor-length purple water color print dress to the GQ Men of the Year awards. Alex wore her YSL Tribute sandals, a large purple clutch and a purple necklace with her dress.

This is one of my favorite looks from Alex. Her hair is a little bit messy, but her makeup and styling are flawless.

Mary J. Blige wore an army green tube dress to the Gucci for FFAWN event during New York Fashion Week. Mary accessorized the look with metallic bangles and bracelet and a gold necklace.

I've become a huge fan of Mary's style over the years. She knows what works for her, and she always looks put together and age appropriate.

This is reminiscent of the dress Nia Long wore to the WEEN Awards.

Did Mary over accessorize her outfit?

Jumpsuits have been huge this season, but I can't remember the last time I saw one worn this well. Estelle wore a black jumpsuit to the 2010 WEEN Awards.  She accessorized the look with a pair of black pumps, white clutch and silver bracelet and earrings.

What do you think of Estelle's jumpsuit? 

Shontelle wore this youthful outfit to the MOBO Awards Nominations. Shontelle's capitalizing on the biker trend with a black leather jacket and boots. She accessorized the look with a Louis Vuitton graffiti print clutch and wayfarers.

If Shontelle were a 17 year old girl this might have been a great look, but it looks rather ridiculous on a woman who's in her mid-20s.

What do you think of Shontelle's look? It is too juvenile? 

Nia Long wore a red strapless tube dress to the WEEN Awards. Nia kept it simple with gold hoop earrings and black YSL pumps.

It's hard to believe that Nia's nearing 40. She looks better and better every time she steps on the red carpet. She's worn those pumps before, but the basic black works for her.

What do you think of Nia's look? Is it too dressed down for an awards ceremony?

Michelle Williams is set to appear on UK dance show Strictly Come Dancing, and she's unveiled an new look for the series.

Michelle's been getting thinner and thinner since her Destiny's Child days.

What do you think of the look?

Alesha Dixon wore a monochromatic look to the launch show of Strictly Come Dancing. Her beige dress and shoes looked great with sparkling bangles and earrings.

The nude trend is great, but I hope some color will start making it's way back onto red carpets.

Veronica Webb wore a metallic, croco-embossed print dress while hanging outside of Lincoln Center.  The former supermodel wore a gold watch, with gold earrings and necklace, and some interesting army green shoes.

She wore this outfit to Christian Siriano's fashion show.

Veronica always looks gorgeous, but this outfit is more than a bit suspect. Could it be so fashion forward that I just don't get it? What do you think of Veronica's look? 

Alexandra Burke wore a beige shift dress to the MOBO Awards Nomination Lunch. The UK singer kept the accessories to a minimum with black pumps with gold toes.

Alex's shoes remind me of the Christian Louboutin Maggie pumps that were super popular last year. Could this be the beginning of a new trend?
